Matthew 20:1-16

I am an ex-New Ager and born again Christian, who has seen God do great things.  I am here to share my stories and experiences for those with a heart to listen.

  1. Hi 11th Hour Worker,
I stumbled onto a blog post of yours from March on Andrew Wommack, and I couldn’t help but notice that you were talking about not receiving the answer to some of your prayers.

I am curious to know if since then if you have received your healing or if you’re still waiting. Since you mention inherited sin passed down to you, I am guessing you may not have broken that over your life yet.

Since you seem to be a reader, I will point you to what I’ve found to be the essential works on deliverance ministry/spiritual warfare: 1. They Shall Expel Demons by Derek Prince. 2. Blessings or Curses by Derek Prince. 3. The Transforming the Inner Man by John and Paula Sandford. 4 The Jezebel Yokr by Sandie Freed.

The two books do a great job explaining how curses work and how demonization affects people. This explains the nuts and bolts of spiritual warfare. Curses and demons are symptoms of spiritual problems, and Transforming the Inner Man teaches how to apply the blood and cross of Christ to your life in a way that strikes at underlying root causes so that you can walk in greater fullness of salvation. Sandie Freed’s book deals with Jezebel in particular, but it discusses a wide range of sins that impact our lives.

I think you’ll find that this is a good starting place for studying spiritual warfare. Self-deliverance is not the easiest path, but you do have the Holy Spirit to lead you. However, it is better than staying in bondage.

I pray the Lord’s jubilee over you and your family. May you be set free from all the power of the enemy as you continue to walk in Christ Jesus, and may you in turn be able to help strengthen others to walk in freedom and victory.

    God bless,

    • Thanks very much for your thoughtful comment! I read it aloud to my husband who quickly said, “Wait a minute!” and he ran off. When he returned moments later, he was holding the Derek Prince book “Blessing or Curses” in his hand! We’ve had it for years but never gave it much thought. It was given to my husband and he read it many years ago but as he put it, “I didn’t receive the message in the book back then.” We have now started reading it together and it is speaking volumes to us! My husband and I both see iniquities in our lives, because we see the same in our relatives. And since iniquities can go back generations, it stands to reason that things affecting us today can be afflictions from relatives we never even knew. Derek Prince makes perfect sense when he says that sometimes healing cannot take place until a curse is first lifted. And that’s something I never, ever heard Andrew Wommack say! Andrew simply states that “unbelief” is the only reason we’re not being healed, when I know full well that I’m NOT having any unbelief. While I’m sure that can be the case for many people, it’s certainly not what’s happening in ours. My husband has seen instantaneous healing and miracles with his own eyes. So even if one argued that I, myself, have unbelief, he clearly does not, so unbelief cannot be the problem. We have been praying for the Lord to show us what we are missing… show us why we’re not seeing the manifestation of our answered prayers… and this is most certainly that answer! I thank you, and the Lord, for this information. And I pray that you and your family receive a special blessing for ministering to us in our time of need. ~The11thHourWorker
